Since June 1, Shanghai has entered the stage of fully restoring normal production and living order. In recent days, the cargo volume at Shanghai's maritime and air ports has continued to rise, and has basically returned to more than 90% of the normal level. With the completion of the Dragon Boat Festival break, Shanghai port may usher in a one to two-week shipping peak.
As one of the top three international air cargo hubs in the world, which has gathered the three major integrators of international freight (FedEx, DHL and UPS), during the three-day Dragon Boat Festival holiday, the average daily cargo and mail flights at Pudong Airport exceeded 200, and the number of flights is similar to the level before the outbreak of the current round in Shanghai. In terms of shipping, since June, the container throughput of Shanghai port has exceeded 119000 TEUs per day. At Yangshan Port, the average daily export declaration volume during the period of Shanghai's closure was 7000, but so far on June 1, the daily export declaration volume has increased to 11000, an increase of more than 50%.
It is reported that Shanghai port has rich airline resources and high port operation efficiency, so it attracts a large number of "made in China" to be transported to Shanghai from other places and exported from Shanghai. Therefore, a large number of integrated warehouses are distributed near Yangshan and Waigang ports in Shanghai. These integrated warehouses were previously suspended due to closure and control. However, with the resumption of work and production in Shanghai, the integrated warehouses have gradually resumed their opening up, and are expected to achieve full load operation from June 6, which has become a major driver for this round of shipment peak.
At present, in order to improve efficiency, the major shipping companies have "snatched back the lost time". The time from the departure of container ships from the port to the berth has been reduced from 48 hours in the original normal period to 24 hours or even 16 hours. As a result, the time left for the arrival, inspection and shipment of export goods will be greatly reduced, and the lag of any link of cargo logistics may increase the risk of "falling off the container". At present, relevant units at Shanghai port are actively allocating resources, doing their homework in advance, strengthening contacts with export enterprises, and doing everything possible to ensure the timely shipment of export goods.
